we celebrated my dad's birthday while he was here visiting lucas and emma. it was very low-key, but i think it was special because it's been years since i've had the chance to celebrate my dad's birthday with him. i'm sure that having lucas and emma here also made it extra special for him. :) if only my sister could have been here, too...maybe next year!

i love emma's expression in the middle picture...but not as much as i love lucas in the last picture staring at the yummy cake!
